(Batesville, IN) – A medical emergency may have played a role in a rear-end collision on the I-74 eastbound exit ramp in Batesville just before 10 o’clock Thursday morning.
Witnesses say an Indiana State Police trooper attempted to stop a possible impaired driver when the car drove into the back of a parked semi on the ramp.
Exit 149 was closed during Batesville Fire and Rescue’s response and the ISP investigation.
The trooper believes the unidentified driver suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
That person was taken to the hospital but there’s no word on their condition.
