(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg/ Decatur County Public Library is partnering with the Greensburg Animal Shelter for the Dog Days of Summer Library display.
The display is the first thing you see as you enter the Library with pictures of dogs up for adoption, items from the Amazon wish list, and books relating to this theme.
Library Public Services Clerk Sara Pate started the program, which grew into a partnership with the Greensburg Animal Shelter to encourage reading and improve the shelter’s ability to care for stray and sick animals they help save through donations.
Library patrons who go to The Greensburg Animal Shelter can get 10% off if they mention seeing the library display.
“We hope everyone enjoys the display and gets to experience helping animals in need while picking out a good book,” said Library Marketing Coordinator Hannah Hassler.

Meanwhile, the Greensburg/Decatur County Public Library’s End of Summer Reading Pool Party, which was postponed last Thursday because of inclement weather, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 25 from 7-9 pm at the Batesville Memorial Pool.
