Batesville, IN — Angie Harmeyer, Chief Executive Officer of Southeastern Indiana YMCA, presented the “Youth Service Award” for the first time to five exceptional youth staff during a special morning reception attended by YMCA board members, staff, and the families of the recipients.
This recently established honor awards up to $5,000 annually to YMCA youth employees upon completion of one year of consecutive employment at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. The honored youth employees are:
- Marissa Eckstein, $750 Award, a senior at Oldenburg Academy;
- Maria Lopez, $1,000 Award, a Batesville High School 2022 graduate;
- Sydney Massey, $1,000 Award, a Batesville High School 2022 graduate;
- Kylee Starost, $750 Award, a senior at East Central High School; and
- Belle Wolters, $1,000 Award, a Batesville High School 2021 graduate.
The Youth Service Award will be given annually to YMCA youth employees ages 15-19 upon completion of one year of consecutive employment, with a schedule of a minimum of 5 hours weekly.
