DECATUR COUNTY, IN — North Decatur Elementary School has been awarded a once-in-a-lifetime NASA in-flight Educational Downlink Event on Monday, February 7.
Students will ask prerecorded questions between Noon and 2 pm that day to the Expedition 66 astronauts on the International Space Station.
Astronauts will listen to the videos in space and then respond live on NASA TV or NASA Live during the virtual event.
The public is invited to watch the live stream on NASA TV or on the space agency’s YouTube channel during the virtual event or can attend at the North Decatur gym the day of the event.
As part of the event, the North Decatur Elementary community will create a life-size mockup of the International Space Station in the school gym.
Inside the ISS mockup, students will make presentations about living and working in space.
