Franklin County volliers fall in five to South Dearborn

In Brookville Tuesday, Franklin County lost a tough volleyball match in five games to South Dearborn.  The Knights winning scoring line was: 19-25, 25-15, 25-23, 21-25 and 15-9.

“Our girls fought hard when the ball was in our favor, but when it wasn’t, we slowly fell apart,” said Franklin County coach Jill Mergenthal. “We had many, many long volleys. When we lost those volleys, one small mistake led to many mistakes. And the same went the other way too. When we won a long volleys, we ran with it and came back in set three.”

Volleyball is a game of mistakes, not a game of perfection,” added Mergenthal.  A good quote by Theodore Roosevelt is ‘Believe you can and you’re halfway there’.  We need to learn how to fix these mistakes quickly so we can continue to play our competitive game.”
