Franklin County took on Centerville Tuesday in varsity volleyball. The Wildats fell short in a highly contested match, 3-2. Final scores favoring the Bulldogs were 25-18, 20-25, 20-25, 25-19 and 18-16.
“The Lady Cats lost to Centerville but played their game the way I knew that they could,” said Franklin County coach Jill Mergenthal. “We stayed right with them every step of the way. Both teams had very strong servers. It really came down to set four when we struggled with serve receive. And in set five, we fought the fight and stayed with them point-for-point to the end.”

The JV Wildcats won against Centerville in three sets: 25-22, 21-25 and 15-12.
“Just like the last few matches, our girls have learned to play in a new rotation; however ,they have also learned to play as a team,” said FC JV coach Tana Stang. “Talking, encouraging and teamwork contributes into getting the win every time.”
