A delegation of officials from China will visit Batesville this week to potentially form an international partnership.
Five government dignitaries from Haiyan, China will come to the area to meet with Batesville officials and tour local facilities on Thursday.
A welcoming ceremony will be held at the Memorial Building at 9:15 a.m. Following the public meeting, the group will tour Batesville’s Ivy Tech Community College campus, Hillenbrand Doll Plant, and possibly Oldenburg and Weberding’s Carving.
The trip could lead to Haiyan becoming a sister city to Batesville. The Chinese city is located in the Zhejiang Province and has a population of 370,000 people.
