EC graduate among Marines wounded in Kabul terrorist attack

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN — One of the Marines wounded in Thursday’s terrorist attack in Afghanistan is a Dearborn County native.

Corporal Kelsee Lainhart is a 2019 graduate of East Central High School.

Lainhart is being treated at a U.S. military hospital in Germany after she was wounded in the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport that killed 13 fellow servicemembers and at least 170 Afghanis.

In a social media post, Lainhart’s family is asking people across Southeastern Indiana to pray for her recovery.
