Rumpke will revert back to once a week garbage collection on Tuesday, October 15.
State Road 46, East Pearl, West Pearl and County Line Road will serve as the dividing line for the weekly pick-up. Residences and businesses north of this line will be collected on Tuesday, with the remainder of the City collected on Friday.
The collection of recycles will remain as is, on a weekly schedule.
“Pick-up for brush and limbs must be bundled, and cannot exceed four feet in length and two feet in diameter,” a representative with Rumpke said, “Branches cannot be thicker than four inches around, and cannot weight more than 50 pounds. Brush or limbs should not be placed in plastic bags.”
Collection of leaves
The Batesville Street Department will begin the process of curbside pick-up of leaves on Monday, October 14. Leaves will continue being collected through early December.
Paint Can Disposal
According to Rumpke, to dispose of paint in a can, the paint must be completely dried with a note attached stating, “Dried Paint.”
Mixing equal amounts of inexpensive kitty litter with liquid paint, and leaving the lid off for about a week should dry out the paint for proper disposal.
Rumpke encourages residents to drain garbage that contains liquids before placing it in a trash bag or container.
“This will assist in minimizing the potential for unwanted liquids draining on the streets,” a Rumpke representative said in a press release.
