Update — The National Service has added Decatur and Jennings County, as well as all counties in Central Indiana, under the High Wind Warning that is in effect from 11 pm on Thursday through 9 am Friday morning.
Original Story — The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for this evening across the eastern parts of the state which includes Franklin, Fayette, and Union Counties from 10 pm on Thursday through 10 am Friday morning.
Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are also possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Southwest winds between 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are possible in the region.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
The rest of Southeast Indiana is under a Wind Advisory from 10 pm on Thursday through 10 am Friday morning which includes Ripley and Dearborn Counties.
