Greensburg, IN — The Decatur County Department of Health reports that the county will be going back to the orange category on the state’s color-coded metric map. Sean Durbin with the Decatur County Health Department stated that the numbers of COVID-19 positive tests dropped by over 30% and he accounts this from the restrictions that were placed on local businesses and schools.
Durbin would like to remind the community to continue to use all precautions so that the county can remain in orange and be able to drop those restrictions. Though schools in Decatur County will be returning to in-person studies on Monday, the level red restrictions are still in place for businesses and schools for a two-week period following the map color change. If all stay well, the county will have orange level restrictions starting December 9 according to Durbin.
Ripley County Health Department reports that it will stay in the red category for at least another week. No reports from Franklin County.
