Batesville, IN — At the Batesville Board of Works meeting on Monday, the Board approved the use of the Village Green Parking Lot, where the farmer’s market will be held in conjunction, for Chalktoberfest on Saturday, October 10th from 8 am to noon.
The Ripley County Community Foundation Youth Outreach is looking for local artists to participate in Chalktoberfest, a competitive art drawing contest. Check-in will be open from 8 am to 8:30 am, then the contest begins at 8:30 am and ends at 11:30 am. Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners at noon.
The theme of the drawing contest is “Movie Poster Street Mural” and contestants will be given a 4′ x 3′ area to recreate their favorite poster in chalk.
The number of artists permitted to enter the chalk art contest is limited, and the event is weather permitting. Call the Ripley County Community Foundation at 812-933-1098 for more information.
