Statewide—Members of Camping Indiana, a Facebook group, are participating in a ‘Give Back Weekend’ for the DNR this weekend. During that span, members will be picking up trash at various state parks, fish & wildlife areas, and state forest properties. The group comprises around 15,000 members.
Earl Reagan, the group’s founder, said he started the group in 2011 to share information on parks and help new campers. Jody Heaston, volunteer coordinator for state parks, said the help is needed because there has been an increase the number of visitors at all DNR properties this summer.
