The 2020 Special Olympics Indiana Annual Polar Plunge took place on Saturday, February 15th, at The Versailles State Park. The preliminary total of money raised at the event was over $45,000.
Many awards were presented. The individual raising the most money was Mike Lewis with $4,050 raised. The team that raised the most money was The Knights, Lions, and Bears with $10, 761. The Public Safety Award for the most money raised by EMS, Fire, and Police were The Moores Hill Fire Chicks with $2,332 and also winning the Costume Contest. The Star Student raising the most money was Lexy King of Jac-Cen-Del at $1,080. The Teacher Award for outstanding fundraising and Leadership at his or her school was Krista Socks at South Dearborn. The largest school team was South Ripley with 23 team members plunging. The Raiders also repeat as the overall top school fundraising team at $5,190.
