Greensburg, In. — City council members in Greensburg tabled the chicken debate until the December meeting. The council is considering an ordinance that would allow residents to keep up to four hens at least 20 feet away from a property line in city limits.
Residential lots that cannot accommodate the 20 foot setback would have to apply for a variance.
The delay action was taken largely because a key council member was unable to attend the meeting.
Evansville, Bloomington, Greenfield and Columbus all have ordinance that control flocks within city limits.
