Batesville, In. — Hillenbrand Inc. president/CEO Joe Raver and many employee volunteers wrapped up the “One Campaign” by presenting a $25,000 check to the Batesville Area Resource Center.
The “One Campaign” harnesses volunteerism, educational awareness and a financial contribution to develop health, wellness, community enhancement and economic development.
The volunteers painted, cleaned, made repairs and did the “heavy lifting” to help the community service organizations prepare the new office space.
The Batesville Area Resource Center is home to One Community, One Family, Southeast Indiana Health Center, Batesville Food Pantry, Choices and Project T-3(Totes for Tots &Teens).
The monetary donation will be used to complete the build-out of the repurposed building on County Line Road. Ten percent of the gift, or $2,500 will go to the Food Growers Association to help stock fresh choices in the food pantry. Raver also said Hillenbrand is pursuing an effort to grow fresh produce.
State representatives Randy Frye, Randy Lyness and Cindy Ziemke, Batesville mayor Mike Bettice and representative from congressman Luke Messer’s office attended the event.
