7th Grade Lady Cardinals Claim First Win

Batesville, IN – After a few losses, the Lady Cardinals stayed determined to get their first win of the season and hopefully get the ball rolling and start a win streak. They faced off against North Decatur on Thursday night.

The game started very slow on both ends of the floor, but St. Louis found their legs and began to build a lead. This lead was safe with them as they held it the rest of game. However, it wasn’t stress free for the girls, the Chargers made a run and brought the lead to just one point before the Cardinals created more separation, winning 26-17.  Lydia Dwyer led the team in scoring with 12 points, followed by Reagan Siefert with 7. Claire Baker contributed 4, with Lucy Brelage and Kristen Obermeyer scoring their first points of the season, Kristen with 2 and Lucy with 1. Cassandra Meneses led the team on defense, while Ellie Weberding and Eloise Hamilton played aggressively, forcing turnovers all over the place.

The Lady Cardinals are back in action tomorrow, February 15th, in the Oldenburg Academy tournament!
