
Alvin retired from Hill-Rom. During his centennial life he had worked at Stienkamps, he was a substitute bus driver and had worked for Union Furniture. He enjoyed farming as a hobby but most of all he enjoyed his family and friends.
He is survived by children, Charles Kessens (Cathy) of Batesville, IN, Marian Kessens of Columbus, IN, Barbara Spreckelson (Ronnie) of Greensburg, IN and Linda Reichel (Brad) of Springville, IN, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren with one on the way, 1 niece, 1 nephew and his first cousins Normal Roberts, Ethel Parmer and Roger Westerfeld.
In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by his son Leroy Kessens, brothers, Carl Kessens, Harvey Kessens, Milton Kessens, 1 great-grandchild and 3 nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday September 22, 2019 from 12 – 2 with a 2:00 funeral service all at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Pastor Harold Carter will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Hospital for Children c/o the Meyers Funeral Home.
