Lloyd “Sparky” Walter Siebert, age 79 of Batesville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The son of Orval and Esther (Menchoffer) Siebert was born on April 30, 1938 in Batesville, IN. The 1956 Batesville High School graduate married Donna Smock on June 30, 1962 at St. John Catholic Church in Osgood. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Crossroads.
Back in his day, Lloyd liked to have fun, maybe too much fun. He liked to drag race (not necessarily legally) in his 57 Chevy and when he was still underage he and his friends used to go to the old Feltz’s to get their beer. Sparky, as his buddies at work liked to call him, eventually retired from Hill-Rom, but before that he worked for many years at the Union Furniture Company. Lloyd and his wife, Donna loved to travel in their RV. They have actually been to all 50 states except Alaska. The real love of his life was his grandchildren. In fact, he was always at their events, even in his poor health. Lloyd “Sparky” will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Donna, son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Maureen Siebert of Sunman; three grandchildren, Brookelyn, Kameron and Janae Siebert; and brother and sister-in-law Mac and Kathy Siebert of Batesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 10am to 12pm immediately followed by funeral services at 12 noon all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Pastor Creighton P. Leptak Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Crossroads. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the National MS Society c/o the funeral home.
