The man and woman involved in the Las Vegas killing spree that left five people dead, including two police officers, had a local connection.

Jerad Dwain Miller, 31, and his wife Amanda, killed Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo in a restaurant before entering a Walmart and gunning down a civilian. The couple got into a gunfight with police officers before Amanda Miller shot her husband, then killed herself.

Amanda listed Lafayette as her hometown and Jerad obtained a lengthy criminal record while in Indiana.

Jerad Miller had been arrested multiple times in Tippecanoe County and had charges including felony battery in 2009, drug possession in 2010, and strangulation in 2011.

He was arrested in Dearborn County on March 1, 2013 on a warrant from Tippecanoe County.
