INDOT mowing crew crash on U.S. 50 injures three

Aurora, Ind. — At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday a three-vehicle crash involving an Indiana Department of Transportation mowing crew injured three people.

A report from the Indiana State Police says a bush hog operated by Justin White, 22, of Dillsboro, was westbound on State Road 50 near Marsh Road, in the right lane with an escort pickup truck driven by Kyle McIntosh, 34, of Versailles, behind. McIntosh’s pickup truck was being operated with an amber strobe light. A semi truck driven by Tony Littleton, 47, of Milan, did not slow and struck the escort truck. The collision pushed the truck into the tractor causing all three vehicles to leave the roadway and the pickup truck to overturn.

McIntosh and Littleton were flown from the scene to a Cincinnati area hospital with serious injuries. White was transported by ambulance to the Dearborn County Hospital for treatment.

Toxicology tests are being conducted as the investigation continues. All lanes of U.S. 50 were closed for about one hour.
