DNR Investigating Death At Muscatatuck Refuge

Authorities are investigating the death of a North Vernon man that occurred on the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge yesterday.

The body of Elmer Bowling, 66, was discovered by a couple walking near the Sandhill Parking Lot around noon.

Indiana Conservation Officers say the preliminary investigation indicates the death was self-inflicted. No foul play is suspected.
