NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart Not Charged By Grand Jury

ONTARIO COUNTY, NY – Tony Stewart has learned his fate.

A grand jury in New York has decided Stewart will not face criminal charges in connection to the death of driver Kevin Ward Jr. in August.

Prosecutors submitted two charges to the grand jury,one as manslaughter and the other criminal negligent homicide.

For a grand jury to approve charges in New York State, twelve members of the 23-person grand jury must vote in favor.

The August 9 dirt track incident involved Stewart striking Ward, 20, as the young driver was walking on the track after crashing into a fence.
