BMS VB Teams Fall To Trojans

VolleyballThe Batesville Middle School Volleyball Teams faced Sunman-Dearborn and each fell in a 3 game heart breaker.

In the 7th grade game, the Lady Dogs got off to a great start winning the first game 25-16. After falling in the second game 25-15, the team was leading 12-10 but couldn’t close out the game falling 15-12.

Abby Westerfeld led the team from the service line picking up 14 points on 17 for 19 serving including 6 aces. Macy Prickel chipped in 10 points including 8 aces. Macy had 6 hits with a kill, while Anna Bauer earned a kill on 4 hits. Ellie Cassidy and Sydney Huffner each earned a kill at the net.

The 8th grade team started slowly falling 25-13. The second game was much improved as the ladies won 25-25 to push a third and final game. The team was serving for the match 14-11 but could not convert any match points eventually falling 15-14.

Kylie Wanninger earned 9 service points while Kelsey Shupe chipped in with 7. Hattie Westerfeld led the team at the net with 2 kills and a block, while Caitlyn Broering, Tori Kurtz, and Maggie Walsman each recored a kill.

The teams will face St. Louis in an away game this evening. Come out and support the girls vs. their crosstown rivals.
