(Batesville, IN) – The Southeastern Indiana YMCA proudly celebrated two outstanding staff members during its August Board of Directors meeting, presenting them with the prestigious S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition).

This award honors Y employees who consistently go above and beyond, exemplifying the Y’s values and leaving a meaningful impact on the community.

Emma Livers– Summer Camp Captain

This past summer, Emma became the heartbeat of YMCA Summer Camp. As Camp Captain, she not only helped lead and support fellow counselors but also stepped into countless behind-the-scenes roles that kept camp running seamlessly. From problem-solving on the fly, to juggling logistics, to communicating with parents with professionalism and care, Emma elevated every aspect of camp life. Her positivity and adaptability set the tone for both staff and campers, ensuring a safe, fun, and memorable summer for all. The Y is thrilled that Emma will continue making an impact year-round as part of our Kids Club afterschool care team.

Amber Blunt – Aquatics Group Exercise Instructor

For the past 10 years, Amber has been a cornerstone of our aquatics program, leading more than 1,000 water exercise classes. With her consistency, encouragement, and dedication, she has helped participants build strength, improve mobility, and discover the joy of movement in the water. Beyond the physical benefits, Amber has fostered a true sense of community in her classes—one that extends well beyond the pool. Her students know they are in good hands with her thoughtful instruction and care, and we look forward to many more years of wellness, laughter, and connection with Amber leading the way.

“Our team is what makes the Y truly special,” said Tara Britton, CEO of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. “Emma and Amber embody the spirit of service, leadership, and community that our Y is built on. We are grateful for their commitment and inspired by the positive ripple effect their work creates for our members and families.”

The Southeastern Indiana YMCA is proud to honor the dedication of its staff, whose efforts ensure the Y continues to be a safe, welcoming, and impactful place where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive.
