(Batesville, IN) – The Southeastern Indiana YMCA proudly recognized two outstanding team members during its June Board of Directors meeting with the prestigious S.O.A.R. Award (Service and Outstanding Achievement Recognition).

This award honors staff who go above and beyond in their roles, exemplifying the Y’s core values and making a positive impact on the community.

Misty Myers, a member of the morning Wellness Center floor staff, was honored for her dedication to creating a welcoming and engaging environment.

“Misty shows up every day with a big smile and an amazing attitude,” said Tameeka Sizemore, Membership and Operations Director. “She’s always connecting with members and staff from all
departments, and she keeps our Wellness Center looking fantastic. Whether she’s supporting pickleball players, organizing the gym space, or lifting everyone’s spirits with her sense of humor—she’s a true asset to our team.”

James Ray, a dedicated lifeguard, was also recognized for stepping up in a variety of roles to support the lifeguard team.

“James has gone above and beyond—taking the lead on lifeguard scheduling, in-service trainings, and CPR/First Aid certifications,” said Sizemore. “He’s proactive, professional, and always engaged with members. Just this week, a member stopped by the front desk to personally thank him for how calmly and effectively he handled a situation during a group exercise class. His leadership and reliability truly stand out.”

“I am incredibly proud of the many accomplishments and initiatives our team has taken on to strengthen our community,” added Tara Britton, CEO of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. “Their dedication and passion make a lasting impact on the individuals and families we serve.”
