BATESVILLE, IN — Hoxworth Blood Center says the 20th Annual WRBI/St. Louis Parish Blood Drive on Wednesday collected the most units out of all the agency’s blood drives and donor centers that day.
During the blood drive at the St. Louis Parish Center, a total of 65 units of blood were collected at the event, which Hoxworth says will save potentially up to 195 lives.
Seventy-nine volunteers registered, and there were three first-time donors.
The blood collected at Wednesday’s event will help ensure there is an adequate blood supply for patients in the community and goes to save the lives of family, friends, and neighbors throughout Southeastern Indiana and other parts of the Tri-State.
Hoxworth is the sole provider of blood products to over 30 Tri-State hospitals.
