(Laurel, IN) – A man who escaped from the Fayette County Community Corrections program is behind bars following his capture in Laurel on Tuesday.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Vincent Brown was on a work-release program when he cut off his ankle monitoring device.
Investigators received information that Brown had gone to a house on Little Duck Creek Road in Laurel.
SWAT responded and took Brown into custody after a 90-minute standoff.
He’s charged with Escape and Resisting Law Enforcement, and has been terminated from the Community Corrections program.
Authorities say additional probation violations will be filed against Brown, who has a lengthy rap sheet that includes seven separate felony cases in the past 10 years.
He’s being held without bond in the Fayette County Jail.
