(Dearborn County, IN) – Crews have successfully removed the aged deck on the truss bridge along State Road 46 over the Whitewater River in Dearborn County, according to INDOT Southeast.
They’ll soon begin rehabbing steel, which includes repairs, sandblasting and painting, along with constructing the new bridge deck surface and performing joint replacement work.
The bridge is located between U.S. 52 and Barber Road, and is scheduled to reopen in late November.
Additional rehabilitation work will take place on State Road 46 over the Whitewater River next spring.
This project is part of a $10.6 million contract awarded to Beaty Construction in October 2024.
Overall contract work is expected to be complete in 2026.
