UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory has been canceled

UPDATE:  The National Weather Service has canceled the Winter Weather Weather Advisory.

Forecasters say snow showers have exited the area, and a few lingering flurries and a dusting of snow remain possible for the rest of the morning hours.

Original story —

Southeastern IN — The area is under a Winter Weather Advisory until Noon.

The National Weather Service says to expect continuing light mixed precipitation, with additional snow accumulations of less than an inch plus a light glaze of ice.

The road conditions deteriorated overnight, which could impact your commute.

Troopers from the Indiana State Police Versailles Post responded to numerous crashes and slide-offs overnight, including a reported Hazmat spill on Westbound I-74 west of St. Leon. All lanes were blocked from Trackville Road to State Road 101 for several hours.

I-74 was shut down in both directions overnight near the 145-mile marker in eastern Decatur County near the Franklin County line. ISP says vehicles could not make it up or down the hill in that area due to ice on the highway.

You can check your county’s travel status on the Indiana Department of Homeland Security website.
