(Southeastern IN) – A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from Sunday morning through Monday evening.
The National Weather Service says heavy mixed precipitation is possible, along with total snow accumulations between five and 10 inches and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch in some places.
Forecasters say power outages and tree damage are likely due to ice.
Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
You’re urged to prepare for hazardous winter weather conditions and to monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.
Meanwhile, the Decatur County Health Department will operate a warming center for those in need during the cold temperatures.
The center will be at the health department office at 315 South Ireland Street in Greensburg.
Warm drinks will be available.
Call the health department at (812) 663-8301 for more information.
