Wilma Hoffmeier

Wilma Agnes Kuhn Hoffmeier, 84 years old, of Lawrenceburg, IN passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. Wilma grew up on a farm in Lawrenceville and then moved to Yorkville when she met the love of her life Clifford “Dutch” Hoffmeier. Wilma & Dutch loved to go to dances at the local Legions. When she wasn’t running around with Dutch while he was playing music, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, jigsaw puzzles, and watching sports. Wilma would spend multiple days at St. Martin’s Church prepping for the church festival where she and Dutch ran the ham stand for many years and also worked in the lunch stand. Wilma loved the outdoors. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and would can green beans and pickles every year. She had many flowers in her gardens and found joy in watching the hummingbirds every summer.  Many people will remember Wilma from her 18 years as a cook at East Central High School where she was able to keep a watchful eye on her four children. Her children then blessed her with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Wilma will be deeply missed by Dutch, her husband of 63 years; her children Jeff (Judy) Hoffmeier of Lawrenceburg, Beverly (Ray) Fisher of Lawrenceburg, Ron (Dinah) Hoffmeier of Guilford, and Sheila (Scott) Knollman of Harrison; brother Dave (Diane) Kuhn of Dover; 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 step great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward & Agnes Kuhn and siblings Mary Ann Werner, Edward (Bud) Kuhn, and Howard Kuhn.
