(Versailles, IN) – Brian Weigel was recognized by Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott as the 2024 Versailles Post Trooper of the Year.
The agency held its annual awards ceremony in Indianapolis last week.
Trp. Weigel is a two-and-a-half-year ISP veteran.
He responded to 1,200 calls last year, conducted over 800 traffic stops, made 97 criminal arrests and 20 DUI arrests, and investigated 37 crashes.
Trp. Weigel was nominated by his supervisor, who said it was not just for his activity last year, but for his attitude and work ethic.
Officials say Weigel has established good working relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, school personnel, and community leaders.
He was unanimously picked by the Versailles Post command staff to receive the award.
“Trp. Weigel’s work ethic and dedication to the mission of the Indiana State Police has made him worthy of this award,” said Versailles Post Commander Lt. Paul Adams. “He continues to be an asset to the Indiana State Police and the communities that he serves.”
