Virginia MaryAnn Ginn, 86, Bright

Virginia “Ginny” Ginn (née Sontag), age 86, of Bright, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald R. Ginn (2018), and her parents, Ambrose Nicholas and Bernadetta (Klatte) Sontag. She was also the sister of the late Robert and William Sontag.

Ginny is survived by her six children: Deborah (Ken) Wassler, Gerald Ginn Jr., William (Donna) Ginn, Daniel (Debbie) Ginn, Michelle (Jim) Murray, and Jeffrey Ginn. She was the proud grandmother of twelve, great-grandmother of eighteen—with two more expected—and great-great-grandmother of one.

A devoted wife and mother, Ginny was also a dedicated member of the Bright community. Her service included roles as an EMT volunteer, Cub Scout leader, and member of the Red Hat Society, Home Economics Club, and T.O.P.S. Club. A skilled seamstress, she owned and operated her own sewing business in Bright. Her many interests included square dancing, card playing, gardening, organizing family picnics, cooking, painting, crafting, drawing, reading, and making puzzles. She had a deep love for animals.

Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross in Bright, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will follow in the church hall.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ginny’s honor to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 107 High Street, Brookville, IN 47012.
