Rodney Lee Hamilton, “Pap”, passed away at the age of 73 at his residence in Dillsboro with his loving family by his side on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Rodney was born on Monday, August 15, 1949 in Covington, Kentucky, son of Roy and Margie (nee Reams) Hamilton. Rodney married the love of his life, Debbie (nee Deamron) Hamilton on September 20, 1969. Rodney proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple. He retired from Monsanto in 2006 where he worked as an electrician, and he drove a school bus for South Dearborn and Perry Oak schools for 15 years. He enjoyed golfing and sports in general, but his greatest passion in life was spending time with his family and church family.
Rodney will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Debbie Hamilton, of Dillsboro; children Blake Hamilton (Mistie) of Cross Plains, Brandi Cox (Benjamin) of Hebron, Kentucky, and Mooch Hamilton (Pam) of Greendale; grandchildren Lincoln Cox, Harper Cox, Hadley Cox, Amber Holley, and Trinity Taylor.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margie Hamilton, brother Chuck Hamilton, and sister-in-law Shauna Hamilton.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Rodney from 4:00 – 7:00pm on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Dillsboro Civic Center, 9824 Central Ave., Dillsboro, IN 47018. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 7:00pm. Memorials may be given in honor of Rodney to Cops and Kids through the Laughery Valley Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).
