UPDATE: Victims Identified in Fatal Dearborn County Crash

(West Harrison, IN) – The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two people killed in a head-on crash on Harrison-Brookville Road in West Harrison Friday morning.

The preliminary investigation indicates a car driven by 17-year-old Reese Hayes of Lawrenceburg was eastbound on Harrison-Brookville and crossed the center line, hitting a westbound car driven by 22-year-old Zachary Hedges of West Harrison head-on.

Hayes and Hedges were the lone occupants of their vehicles. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Harrison-Brookville Road was closed for several hours while an Indiana State Police Crash Reconstructionist responded to assist with the investigation.

In addition to ISP, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dearborn County Coroner’s Office, Harrison (Ohio) Fire and EMS and the New Trenton Fire Department.

It happened shortly before 5 a.m. on Harrison-Brookville Road in West Harrison.
