UPDATE: One of Two Batesville Boil Water Advisories Dropped

UPDATE: The boil advisory issued Sunday for East Pearl Street near Baxter’s Ritter Plant has been lifted by the Batesville Water Utility.

(Batesville, IN) – A pair of boil advisories have been issued in Batesville after two water main breaks over the weekend.

An advisory was posted following a water main break late Sunday afternoon on East Pearl Street near Baxter’s Ritter Plant.

And Batesville Water Utility crews were called late Saturday night to deal with a water main break on Western Avenue between Park Avenue and Liberty Street.

In both cases, water service to customers was interrupted while repairs were being made.

Both advisories are in place until further notice.

(Batesville, IN) – A Boil Advisory is in effect for Western Avenue in Batesville between Park Avenue and Liberty Street due to water main break.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.

Batesville Water Utility crews were called out late Saturday night to deal with the water main break, which they repaired early Sunday.

Water service was interrupted, and Western Avenue was closed while the repair work was taking place.

A Boil Advisory is a precautionary measure issued by the water utility to alert customers when there is a potential for compromised water quality.

It is recommended that you boil all water used in the preparation of food and beverages for consumption for two minutes.

Water used for laundry, showering, shaving, and watering grass or plants is safe to use without boiling.
