UPDATE: Flood Watch canceled

UPDATE:  The Flood Watch issued for Southeastern Indiana has been canceled.

The National Weather Service says flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat.

Original story —

SOUTHEASTERN IN — Ripley, Decatur, and Dearborn counties are under a Flood Watch until tonight (Wednesday) at 8 pm.

Franklin County is not included in the watch area.

The National Weather Service says flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Forecasters say people in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning is issued.

You’re urged to avoid low-lying areas and motorists are advised to be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.
