(Franklin County, IN) – A Brookville woman is dead following a single vehicle accident on the 12,000 block of State Road 1 Thursday night.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 9:15 pm just south of Bentley Road.
Deputies arriving on the scene found a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by 46-year-old Alisa N. Kendrick entangled in a guardrail.
Investigators determined the car was northbound on State Road 1 when it went off the road for an unknown reason and struck the guardrail, which resulted in extensive damage to both the vehicle and the guardrail.
Kendrick was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies determined she was not wearing her seat belt.
The accident is still under investigation.
State Road 1 was closed between Bentley and East Roberts Road for about two hours while deputies investigated.
Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the Brookville Police Department, the Blooming Grove and Brookville volunteer fire departments, Franklin County EMS and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

(Franklin County, IN) – Several agencies responded to an accident that shut down the 12,000 block of State Road 1 in Franklin County between Bentley and East Roberts roads Thursday night.
State Road 1 was closed for about two hours during the cleanup and investigation.
