VERSAILLES, IN — Patrons and the public are invited to kick off the summer with Tyson Library and special guests from the Newport Aquarium on June 11 at 1 pm at the Tyson Activity Center.
The summer kickoff marks the beginning of this summer’s “Oceans of Possibilities” programming.
The library is preparing weekly activities and crafts exploring sea myths and legends, conservation, pirates, and sea animals for elementary school-aged seafarers.
Registration for these programs is open now.
Sign-up forms are available at the checkout desk, and can also be requested by emailing [email protected].
New registration forms are required for each student, even if they are already enrolled in one or more of the library’s programs.
The programming schedule from June 11 through July 2 and July 10 through July 23 will be:
- Preschoolers on Tuesday at 10:30 am and 4 pm;
- Kindergarten and First Grade on Wednesday at 10:30 am;
- Second and Third Grade on Thursday at 10:30 am;
- Fourth through Sixth Grade on Thursday at 2:30 pm; and
- Teens (Seventh through Twelfth Grade) on Friday at 3:30 pm.
Adults will also be able to join in on the fun and enter to win prizes throughout the summer reading program.
More information about this year’s sponsors and prizes will be published on tysonlibrary.org prior to the start of summer reading.
