Two-vehicle crash sends Versailles man to the hospital

Versailles, IN — A Versailles man was injured in a two-vehicle crash late last Monday night at 9757 South U.S. 421.

According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, a car driven by 20 year Gideon Vest of Versailles was northbound on 421 around 10:45 pm on August 8 when he lost control and veered into the southbound lane.

41-year-old Earnest Bush was operating a sports bike and tried to avoid Vest’s car.

Bush crashed and was ejected from the sports bike. He was taken to Norton Kings Daughters Health in Madison.

Vest was not injured.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by Ripley County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Bachelor.

Also responding were Indiana State Police, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office, the Versailles and New Marion fire departments, and Ripley County EMS.
