Two vehicle accident sends one to the hospital

Cedar Grove, IN—Late Saturday morning, deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash.  Deputies arrived to scene on U.S. 52 and 2nd Street in Cedar Grove.

Through their investigation, deputies determined that a 2016 Jeep Wrangler driven by Dawn N. Gindling,46, of Brookville, was eastbound on U.S. 52.  Gindling told deputies that she did not realize that the vehicle in front was slowing down due to traffic.  Gindling was unable to stop before colliding with the vehicle in front of her.

Peter J. Decker, 54,  of Indianapolis, told Deputies that he was traveling eastbound on U.S. 52 in a 2003 Honda Accord.  Decker stated that he had to slow down due to a vehicle in front of him that was preparing to turn onto 2nd Street when his vehicle was struck in the rear by vehicle Gindling’s vehicle. A passenger in Decker’s vehicle, Teresa Decker, 51,  of Indianapolis, was transported by Brookville E.M.S. #2, to Mercy Health in Harrison, Ohio, for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the accident.
