WESTPORT, Ind. — Two Westport residents have been injured after a collision late last week on 1100 South, east of Westport.
According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, a pickup being driven by Jordan Neal, 20, sideswiped a car driven by Lindsay Griffin, 37, when the two vehicles met near the center of the roadway.
Police say both attempted to avoid the collision.
The impact caused the truck to go off road and down an embankment, while the car hit a guardrail.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene but was later sent back as both drivers were conscious and alert at the scene.
Griffin sustained a head laceration while Neal sustained a chest injury.
Both were transported to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged. Police say excessive speed is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
