Two Decatur County football players will be on the cover of the 2022 Indiana Football Digest. Greensburg’s Sam West and North Decatur’s Reid Messer are among the IFD’s Prime Time 25.
The publication recaps the prior high school season and highlights players and teams to watch in the upcoming season.
In 2021, West threw for 1089 yards (136 avg./game) completing 55 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. He rushed for 443 yards (55 avg./game) with seven touchdowns. West also averaged 38 yards per punt.
And last season for Messer, the running back rushed for 1528 yards (139 avg./game) with 22 touchdowns and seven 100-plus yard games. He also had 44 receptions for 380 yards (35 avg./game) and three touchdowns. As a corner back, Messer had 49 tackles and one fumble recovery.
