Tennis
The Batesville Boys Varsity Tennis Team defeated East Central by the score of 5-0 to improve their record to 6-0 on the season and 4-0 in the EIAC.

#1 Singles- Henry Luchow defeated Jason Bosse- 6-1, 6-2
#2 Singles- Nick Kirschner defeated James Brand 6-2, 6-0
#3 Singles- Blake Walsman defeated Tyler WIlson 6-3, 6-4
#1 Doubles- Chris Hoseus and Dustin Nobbe defeated Nathan McCann and Conner Paul 6-1, 6-1.
#2 Doubles- Jacob Paul and Matthew Taylor defeated Alex Hobbe and Phil Stenger 6-1, 6-0.

In JV action, the Bulldogs remain undefeated and beat EC 6-0.
Winners in singles were Brett Westerfeld, Spencer Rose, Ben Schwettman, and Luan Arnold while the doubles teams of Harsh Patel and Paul Ritter, and William Dong and Justin Garcia.

Batesville will play Madison at home on Saturday at 9:00.

Lawrenceburg Varsity defeated Batesville 25-17, 25-23, 15-25, 25-20.
Lady Bulldog Standout, Bailey Baumer, goes down with injury in the first set.

The 7th grade Batesville Middle School Lady Bullogs defeated Brookville in two games. Scores were 25-20; 25-7.
The 8th grade team outlasted Brookville by the scores 25-20; 19-25; 15-13.

Soccer
Batesville Boys Varsity blanked The South Dearborn Knights 3-0.
The Batesville JV also were victorious 5-1.

The Batesville JV Lady Bulldogs defeated the South Dearborn lady knights 2-0 to continue their winning record of 2-0-1. Scorers for the lady bulldogs were Emily Rose and Molly Weigel with an assist from Morgan Puente.  The defense continues to hold strong leaving the lady knights scoreless.

The Batesville Lady Bulldogs hosted the South Dearborn Lady Knights in a conference battle.
The game was an offensive struggle for both teams with each team having only a few good chances at goal.

The result was a 0-0 tie. South Dearborn outshot Batesville 16-14 making this the first game the Lady Dogs were outshot by an opponent. Rebecca Roell made 2 excellent saves on the South Dearborn strikers on a 1v1 with Roell. Roell ended the game with a total of 7 saves.

The Batesville defense has yet to give up a goal all season. The defense includes Roell, Abby Brandt, Rashel Roberts, Hayley Huntington, Brooke Rohlfing, Kristen Wintz, Karsen Worthington, and Jenna Huber.

The Batesville record improves to 3-0-2.

The Lady Bulldogs are back in action Thursday against Seymour.

Cross Country
The Batesville Middle School boys and girls both won their cross country meet at home against Brookville and South Ripley.

Isaac Barker won the boys race in a time of 10:54, followed by Grant Myers, 3rd, Jackson Wooldridge, 6th, Ian Yorn, 7th, Adam Moster, 8th, Ethan Grossman, 9th, and Henry Lipinski, 10th.

Emma Gausman won the girls race in a time of 12:36, followed by Audrey Weigel, 2nd, Audrey Maupin, 4th, Tasha Mayer, 5th, Liz Loichinger, 7th, Sydney Jorgensen, 8th, Melanie Werner, 9th, and Gabby Gibbs, 10th.

The Jac-Cen-Del Junior High Cross Country teams ran South Dearborn in a dual meet at JCD.

The Eagles took 1st as a team in both races.

Maiah Simon (JCD) was the individual winner of the girls’ race and Jared Cline (JCD) was the individual winner of the boys’ race.

Football
Batesville JV defeated Milan 50-8 to improve to 2-0 for the season.

The Batesville Freshman Football team improved to 2-0 and defeated the South Decatur JV team 28-0 with a good defensive performance.

Chris Schene, Nathan Kirschner, Ethan Hirt, and Brett Williamson all recorded sacks for the Bulldog and Kirschner returned an Interception 50 yards to set up another score.  John Harmeyer and Peyton Meyer also played well defensively for the Bulldogs to preserve the shutout.

Offensively, the Bulldogs were lead by Tanner Ayette who scored 3 times on runs of 27, 27, and 91.  Robert Strobel and Brett Williamson both caught passes from Peyton Meyer for 2pt conversions.. Wlliamson also capped the scoring with a 2yd TD run of his own.
The Bulldogs will be in action again next Thursday at home when they play the Switzerland County JV.Submitted by Batesville Coach Eric Feller.
