The following are track recaps from Thursday, April 28. All events are varsity unless noted otherwise. There may be updates, so please check back.
In high school track at the Switzerland County Invitational, the Lady Pacers nipped Lawrenceburg by one and the Tiger boys finished comfortably in front of Southwestern Hanover. Jac-Cen-Del’s girls took third and their boys were fifth. Milan’s boys came in third and their girls placed fifth.
Girls team scores: Switzerland County 147, Lawrenceburg 146, Jac-Cen-Del 78, Shawe 61, Milan 55, Southwestern Hanover 39, New Washington 24 and Rising Sun 15.
Boys team scores: Lawrenceburg 160, Southwestern Hanover 104.5, Milan 98.5, Switzerland County 77, Jac-Cen-Del 58, Rising Sun 49 and Shawe.
Ripley County individual winners included Milan’s Hannah Hoog, Ayden Potts, Mason Green and two by Benjamin Riehle who was named the boys MVP. Riehle broke the meet record in the 400 with a time of 51.56. The Milan boys 1600 relay also won.
Wins for Jac-Cen-Del came from Kayla Simon, Cloey Simon and two by Corbin White. Cloey Simon set a new meet record in the 300 hurdles with a mark of 48.71.

East Central hosted a junior varsity track invitational. In the eight-team girls event, East Central won, Franklin County placed sixth and Batesville was seventh. There were five teams scoring on the boys side. The Trojans placed second to Elder. The Bulldogs and Wildcats followed in third and fourth.
Girls team scores: East Central 150.5, St. Ursula 125, Seton 81, Ryle 72.5, Ryle “B” 50, Franklin County 45, Batesville 35 and South Dearborn 9.
Boys team scores: Elder 195, East Central 158, Batesville 129, Franklin County 60 and South Dearborn 15.
EC winners included two each by Rylee Edwards, Riley Shumate and Nathaniel McFee. Teammates Audrey Buesing, Christian Garrison, Jason Trimble and the boys 400 relay also won.
Scoring victories for Batesville were Cole Rudolf and Will Nuhring while Franklin County’s Dalton Ward also recorded collected a blue ribbon.

South Decatur hosted a tri meet. The Cougar boys tied Rushville for first and the Lady Lions topped the Lady Cougars for the top spot by 6-1/2 points. North Decatur competed as well.
Girls team scores: Rushville 64.5, South Decatur 58 and North Decatur 25.5.
South Decatur winners included two from Rhett Martin and one each from McKinley Shook, Lucas Ballard, Kelby Shook, Ian Frensemeier, Anna Arreola, Brayley Sundal, Maria Nobbe, Elizabeth Flessner, Paige Hibberd and Madisyn Danforth. The Cougars also won both 400 relays and the boys 1600 relay.
Winners from North Decatur featured Ellis Loehmer, Hope Barker and Jenna Walton.

In a junior high meet, Batesville competed at Greensburg and had several firsts (scores were not reported).
Cannon Clark was a three-time individual winner. Double winners included: Ella King, Mimi Smith, Paige Allgier and Dylan Comer. Single wins were recorded by Katie Lipps, Nora Weideman and Liam Stutz. BMS took all four girls relays and one boys. (More information follows the recaps.)

North Decatur’s Ashley Dillon- On Thursday evening , the Lady Chargers traveled to south Decatur in a three-way meet. Madi Allen tied 4th in high Jump at 4’2” and 4th in 100M hurdles with a time of 20:15. Allen also placed 2rd in the 100M dash with a time of 13:68. Ella Kunz placed 4th in discus with a distane of 73’4”. Hope Barker took 1st in the 100m dash with a time of 13:52 and 1st in the 200M dash with a time of 29.08. Gracie Osting took 3rd in the 400m run with a time of 1:10.96. Jenna Walton took 1st in the 1600m run with a time of 6:10 and 3rd in the 800M run with a time of 2:55.
The Lady Chargers will be on the road Tuesday(5/2) for the Decatur County Meet at Greensburg and Thursday (5/5) is Senior night at home against Waldron and Edinburgh.
North Decatur’s Andrew Hocker- In the field events, Ellis Loehmer claimed 1st place in the high jump, clearing a height of 5’10”, while Mason Morris tied for second with a height of 5’8.”
In the long jump, Conner Linkmeyer placed 3rd with a distance of 18’2.”
In shot put, Charlie Kramer claimed 2nd place with a distance of 38’1″ and Caiden Gahimer placed 4th with a distance of 37’7.” In discus, Charlie Kramer placed 3rd with a distance and a new PR of 116’1″ and Caiden Gahimer placed 4th with a distance and PR of 113’6.”
In the 110m hurdles, Ellis Loehmer placed 2nd with a time of 16.74, while the first place runner from South Decatur had a time of 16.66.
In the 400m run, Owen Geis got a new PR with a time of 58.46 and placed 3rd.
In the 4x100m relay, North got a new PR time of 48.36 but placed 3rd.
Lastly, in the 4×400 relay, North got another PR with a time of 3:58.7 and placed 2nd in the event.
The Boy’s next track meet will be the Decatur County meet at Greensburg, Tuesday, May 3rd.

Batesville Middle School’s Meghan Fledderman- We were privileged to have nice sunny weather tonight! It was great to watch the BMS track kids having fun and working hard! We have a busy week next week: Varsity Athletes will be going to Jac-Cen-Del on Monday and all athletes will be running/throwing/jumping against Jennings Co. on Tuesday at home.
