Thomas “Tom” Gosmeyer, 83, of Milan passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 at his home with family by his side. Tom was born Saturday, November 23, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Edward and Violet (Bunce) Gosmeyer. He married Sally Kittle June 3, 1961 and she survives. Tom was a former member of Moores Hill Church of Christ. He grew up in Saylor Park; enlisted in the Air Force and was crew chief of the Thunderbirds; was a supervisor for Monsanto; upon retirement he went to work for Magna Machine and later started his own business called Sunman engineering. Hobbies included: restoring cars and a Chris-craft boat; remodeling houses, he was a Patriot and enjoyed spending time with family.
Tom is survived by wife Sally of Milan; son Eric (Venita) Gosmeyer of Lawrenceburg; daughters: Marti (Rob) Stevens of Lawrenceburg and Leslie (Dan) Allen of Milan; eight grandchildren: Matti Burns, Jessica Losekamp, Josh Coble, Jeremy Reynolds, Hunter Sinclair, Josie Allen, Maisy Allen and Taylor Allen; eleven great grandchildren; sisters: Betty Girten and Judy Sinnard both of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-in-law Marie Gosmeyer of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Robert Flickinger; brothers: Joseph and Edward Jr. Gosmeyer and brothers-in-law: Roy Girten and Joseph Sinnard.
A celebration of life service will be held 6 PM Wednesday, October 30 at Moores Hill Church of Christ, 13567 State Road 350, Moores Hill, with Tito Pel officiating. Military rites provided by Milan Legion Post# 235. Tom’s body was donated to U.C. Medical Center. Memorials may be given in honor of Tom to Moores Hill Church of Christ or Ripley County Humane Society.
