Thefts from vehicles reported in Batesville neighborhood

Batesville, in. — Batesville residents in the Cedar Lane and Catherine Street areas are being cautioned by police following a string of vehicle break-ins. A report from police says the crimes occurred late Saturday into Sunday morning.

A total of six cases are under investigation. Police say the thieves got away with mainly loose change.

Police ask residents to try to park in a lighted area, lock doors and windows, keep valuables out of open view and never warm up a vehicle unattended. If you see a crime in progress call 911 if you have information about a crime call 812-934-3131.
