Theft investigation leads to one arrest in Laurel

Laurel, In. — Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Laurel man in connection with the theft of two motor vehicles from the Lakeview area.

The theft was originally reported in October of 2016, quickly James Shelton, 18, of Laurel, was identified as a suspect. Police say Shelton was taken to the Franklin County Security Center on Monday and a 17-year-old juvenile could face charges.

If convicted for felony burglary and theft Shelton could receive up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
