Switzerland County native, state trooper graduates from FBI Academy

Quantico, Va. — Switzerland County native and Indiana State Police Lt. Delmer Gross recently graduated from the FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia. The class of 224 included men and women from 48 states, 22 countries and five different military organizations.

The program is an internationally recognized 10-week training program for advanced communications, leadership and fitness training. Class participants have proven records within their agencies and on average have about 20 years of law enforcement experience. Instruction is conducted by the FBI Academy and special agents.

Appointed to the Indiana State Police in 1989, Delmer began his career at the Sellersburg Post and worked road patrol duties until his promotion to district detective in 1995. In 2004 he was promoted to Sergeant in the Laboratory Division as a polygraph examiner where he worked until his current promotion to Lieutenant as the Area IV Investigative Commander.
